Privacy Policy — Sahaj (Android)
Last updated: 6 October 2026
Sahaj is a men’s pelvic floor training and education app, made by one developer in Mumbai, India (Saurabh Upadhyay, “we”). It does not diagnose, assess or treat any condition. This policy explains, in plain language, what the app keeps on your phone, what leaves it, and the controls you have.
The short version
- Your answers, plan, sessions, check-ins and progress stay on your phone. We don’t have a server that stores them, and we can’t read them.
- The app sends anonymous usage counts (which screens and steps were used, never your personal answers) and crash reports, so we can see what works and fix bugs. You can turn usage counts off in Settings → Share anonymous usage.
- There is no account, no ads, and we never sell your data.
What stays on your phone
Your onboarding answers, goals, plan, session history, check-ins, reflections, bookmarks, reminder settings and progress are stored only on your device. They are not sent to us or to anyone else. You can export them or erase them at any time from Settings.
What leaves your phone
1. Anonymous usage counts (Google Firebase Analytics).
To understand where people get stuck and what helps, the app records events such as:
- which screens and onboarding steps were reached or skipped (the step’s name, never what you answered), and how many goals you picked (not which ones);
- that a check-in was completed (not what you answered in it);
- sessions started, completed or ended early (the session type, programme week and day, guidance mode, the step reached and how long it ran);
- which articles were opened, read or bookmarked, and which practice-library sessions were started;
- whether the upgrade screen was opened or closed, which price option was picked, and whether a purchase went through, was cancelled or failed;
- whether reminders are on and the hour you chose, and whether Book Mode or the app lock is turned on;
- if you answer the one-tap feedback card, which of its fixed options you tapped;
- how the app was installed (the Google Play campaign, if any).
Firebase also receives general device information (such as device model, Android version and app version) and an app-instance identifier that Firebase generates. These events never contain your answers: not your persona, goals, moods, check-in scores, reflections, or anything you type. We don’t use the advertising ID; it has been removed from the app.
You can switch this off in Settings → Share anonymous usage. When it’s off, no usage events are sent.
2. Crash reports (Google Firebase Crashlytics). If the app crashes, a report with the technical details of the error, the app version and device information is sent so we can fix it. Crash reports are not covered by the usage switch.
3. Purchases (Google Play and RevenueCat). Payments are handled by Google Play; we never see or store your card or bank details. To confirm and restore your one-time unlock, the purchase record (which product, when, and an anonymous app user ID) is processed by Google Play and by RevenueCat, the service we use to validate purchases. There is no subscription and nothing auto-renews.
4. Feedback you choose to send. “Send feedback” opens your own email app. We receive only what you decide to send: your message and, unless you delete it, a line with the app version, Android version and device model.
What we never do
- We never sell your data or share it with advertisers. The app shows no ads.
- We never send your answers, moods, check-ins or reflections off your device.
- We don’t ask for your name, email, phone number or location, and there is no sign-up.
Your controls and rights
- Usage switch: Settings → Share anonymous usage.
- Export: Settings → Export my data.
- Erase everything: Settings → Erase everything permanently deletes all Sahaj data on your phone.
- App lock and Book Mode: a fingerprint/face or PIN lock, and a discreet mode that makes the app look like a reading app. Biometric checks are handled by Android; no biometric data reaches us.
- Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask about the personal data we process, ask for it to be corrected or erased, and raise a grievance. Because Sahaj has no accounts, the usage data that reaches Firebase isn’t linked to your name or contact details. For any request or complaint, email us at the address below.
Deleting your data
- Everything on your phone: open Settings → Erase everything. All Sahaj data on the device is deleted immediately and permanently. Uninstalling the app also removes it.
- Usage counts and crash reports: turn off Settings → Share anonymous usage to stop usage events. These records aren’t linked to your name or contact details, so we can’t look them up by who you are. They are deleted automatically under Google’s retention settings (crash reports after about 90 days). If you’d like us to try anyway, email us with the subject “Delete my Sahaj data”.
- Purchase records are kept by Google Play and RevenueCat for as long as needed to provide and restore your unlock, handle refunds, and meet legal and tax requirements.
Children
Sahaj is for adults (18+). It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Third-party services
Changes
If what the app collects changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
