Privacy Policy for Snapdrop
Effective date: 27 June 2026
Snapdrop ("the app", "we", "us") lets you send images from your phone directly into a Figma session by pairing with the Snapdrop Figma plugin via a QR code. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and your choices. By using Snapdrop you agree to this policy.
Information we handle
- Images you choose to send. When you select images and send them, they are transmitted from your device, through our relay server, to the Figma plugin session you paired with. They are sent only to complete that transfer and are not stored by us after delivery. We never access your photo library beyond the specific images you select.
- Camera (for QR scanning). The app uses your camera solely to scan the pairing QR code shown by the Figma plugin. Camera images are processed on-device to read the code and are not recorded, stored, or transmitted.
- Diagnostics and usage data. We use Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, Remote Config) to keep the app stable and improve it. This collects technical information such as device identifiers, device model and operating-system version, app version, language/region, in-app events, performance traces, and crash reports. This data is not used to personally identify you.
Snapdrop has no user accounts and does not require you to sign in. We do not collect your name, email, contacts, location, or payment information.
How we use this information
- To deliver the images you send to your chosen Figma session (core functionality).
- To diagnose crashes, monitor performance, and understand how features are used so we can improve the app.
Sharing and third parties
- The Figma session you pair with. Images you send are delivered to the plugin session you scanned — that is the intended recipient and is controlled by you.
- Google / Firebase. Diagnostics and usage data are processed by Google as our analytics and crash-reporting provider. See Google's Privacy Policy and Firebase Privacy and Security.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising.
Permissions
- Photos/Media — to let you select images to send.
- Camera — to scan the pairing QR code.
- Internet — to transmit images to your Figma session.
Data security
Connections between the app and our relay are encrypted in transit (HTTPS/WSS). While no method of transmission is completely secure, we take reasonable measures to protect data in transit.
Data retention
Images are transient and are not retained by us after the transfer completes. Diagnostic and usage data handled by Firebase is retained according to Google's data-retention policies.
Children's privacy
Snapdrop is a professional design utility intended for users aged 18 and over. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Your choices
You can revoke the Photos or Camera permissions at any time in your device settings (the relevant features will then be unavailable). You may stop all data collection by uninstalling the app.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
